Although the Apple iPhone 17 series is still ten months away from its launch, the market is already buzzing with numerous rumors about the new devices. According to a report from TechNews, citing MacRumors, the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to feature eight potential changes:

Aluminum Frame

According to the report, the iPhone 17 Pro series is rumored to feature an aluminum frame. In comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models utilized titanium, while the iPhone X through iPhone 14 Pro models featured stainless steel frames.

For the iPhone 17 Pro, the back of the device is expected to showcase a design that combines “partially aluminum” and “partially glass,” as highlighted in the report.

Rectangular Camera Module

The camera module on the iPhone 17 Pro is also rumored to be made of aluminum. The report indicates that compared to the current design, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a “larger rectangular camera bump.”

A19 Pro Chip

The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip. According to the report, rumors suggest that the new chip will utilize TSMC’s advanced third-generation 3nm process. It is anticipated to deliver improvements in both performance and power efficiency compared to its predecessors, as the report notes.

Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 Chip

The report indicates that at least one model in the iPhone 17 lineup will feature Apple’s self-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip, replacing the Broadcom chips used previously.

24-Megapixel Front Camera

Rumors indicate that all four iPhone 17 models will come with an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera. By comparison, the report notes that all iPhone 16 models are equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera.

48-Megapixel Rear Telephoto camera

According to the report, the iPhone 17 Pro series is rumored to feature a 48-megapixel telephoto camera, an upgrade from the 12-megapixel telephoto camera used in the iPhone 16 Pro models.

12GB RAM

Earlier rumors indicated that the iPhone 17 Pro Max would come equipped with 12GB of RAM. However, newer reports suggest that this upgraded configuration will also be available on the iPhone 17 Pro. The increased RAM is anticipated to boost Apple’s AI capabilities and enhance multitasking performance, as the report notes. All current iPhone 16 models are equipped with 8GB of RAM.

A Smaller Dynamic Island for iPhone 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have an exclusive feature: a redesigned Dynamic Island. According to the report, this model will include a narrower Dynamic Island, enabled by Apple’s implementation of Metalens technology for the Face ID system.
