According to a report by Economic Daily News, industry sources indicate that Apple has instructed key suppliers to prepare for the production of the next-generation iPhone SE, expected to launch in March 2025. The report highlights that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will be Apple’s largest and most affordable AI iPhone. The device will support Apple Intelligence and is expected to be priced between USD 499 and USD 549, as the report notes.

The report further states that the release of the iPhone SE 4 is expected to boost operations for Apple’s supply chain partners, including TSMC, Foxconn, Pegatron, Largan Precision, Genius Electronic Optical, and Win Semiconductors.

Citing industry sources, the report indicates that Pegatron will handle most of the assembly work, while TSMC will manufacture the processors. Camera modules will be jointly supplied by Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical. Since the first quarter is typically a slow season for the electronics industry, and the iPhone SE series historically sells around 20 million units, the new model is expected to provide a significant lift for these suppliers, according to the report.

As the report notes, the iPhone SE series has gone three years without an update, leaving its hardware outdated and incompatible with Apple’s latest AI features. The upcoming iPhone SE 4 offers significant upgrades in design, hardware, and functionality. It reportedly includes the following features:

Upgraded Camera System

According to the report, LG Innotek, Apple’s main supplier of camera modules, has already begun preparations for the iPhone SE 4 camera modules, currently in the testing phase, as indicated by industry sources. Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone SE 4 will feature a 48MP main camera and a 12MP front-facing camera, marking a significant improvement in image quality.

Modernized Design

The iPhone SE 4 will adopt a design inspired by the iPhone 14, moving away from the iPhone 8-style design used in previous SE models, as the report notes.

Enhanced Display and Performance

The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, the largest screen ever for the SE series, as the report highlights. It will also come with Face ID and a notched display design, and will include an A18 chip and 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, positioning it as a cost-effective yet high-performance device.

Longer Battery Life

Battery capacity is also expected to increase significantly, from 2018mAh in the iPhone SE 3 to 3279mAh in the SE 4—a 62.5% improvement, as mentioned by the report.
