As the humanoid robotics field has become one of the hottest topics lately, NVIDIA introduced its Cosmos family of foundational AI models, designed to train humanoid and industrial robots, at CES 2025.
Notably, according to a report from Chinese media outlet mydrivers, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced at the event the U.S. chip giant’s partners in the humanoid robotics field, which include China’s Unitree Robotics with its H1 robot and leading electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng. China’s top EV maker BYD is also included in the list.

According to mydrivers, Unitree Robotics recently launched its first general-purpose humanoid robot, H1, which is the first full-size humanoid robot capable of running in China.
Another report by Interesting Engineering notes that Unitree Robotics has launched a new open-source full-body data set that allows its H1, H1-2, and G-1 humanoid robots to move more naturally. The data also enables the robots to dance like humans, the report adds.
It is also worth noting that XPeng, known as China’s leading EV company, announced in November, 2024, that its latest humanoid robot, developed over five years, has more than 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom, with technology shared from XPeng’s AI vehicles.
Another Chinese EV giant, BYD, has also teamed up with NVIDIA on the development of humanoid robots. As per South China Morning Post, founded in 2022, BYD’s EI (embodied intelligence) research team is dedicated to developing different robotic bodies and systems to improve decision-making abilities and advance EI applications in industrial sectors. The team has reportedly produced various types of collaborative robots, mobile robots, and humanoid robots, as stated by BYD.
