TrendForce’s analysis further delves into AI development trends, focusing on the pursuit of higher computing power and sustainable development, while also spotlighting key innovations unveiled at CES 2025. Among these, NVIDIA’s Cosmos training platform emerged as a standout highlight, underscoring the central role of robotics at the event.
1. CES 2025 Highlights AI-Driven Smart Living, Emphasizing Computational Power and Sustainability
With the theme “DIVE IN to the Future,” CES 2025 centered on creating a smart living experience by leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies to meet consumer needs. This vision extends the importance of AI from 2024, establishing it as a core theme throughout the event.
In his keynote speech, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang introduced a range of AI-accelerated computing hardware and software solutions. These advancements aim to address increasing computational demands, highlighting a transition from command-based Generative AI to partially autonomous Agentic AI, while also showcasing the potential of Physical AI for accurate real-world simulations.
Meanwhile, industry leaders such as Panasonic, Volvo, and Waymo presented their visions for innovation in smart appliances and the automotive sector. A common focus was placed on sustainable development, emphasizing circular economy practices, the use of eco-friendly materials, and efficient energy management.
Compared to 2024, CES 2025 introduced new categories, including Diversity & Inclusion, Lifestyle, and FinTech, reflecting evolving societal values and priorities. Certain product categories, such as Robotics and AR/VR, were given greater prominence, with AR/VR expanded to AR/VR/XR to better align with industry developments. On the other hand, categories like Advanced Air Mobility, Cryptocurrency, NFTs, Web3, and Metaverse were removed, as their content has been consolidated into broader, related fields.
2. NVIDIA Unveils Cosmos Training Platform, Spotlighting Robotics at CES 2025
Robotics took center stage among the featured exhibits at CES 2025. The industry’s growth is fueled by advancements in mechanical systems and AI training, alongside rising demand driven by demographic shifts and increasing labor costs. Notably, Samsung announced at the event that its home robot, Ballie, is set for an official launch in 2025.
The event showcased a diverse array of robotic innovations, including exoskeletons, robotic arms, and full-system robots from companies like NEXCOM, Mixi, Realbotix, and Pollen Robotics. Additionally, some companies concentrated on specific components and technologies. For example, Robosense introduced a robotic hand with 20 degrees of freedom, while Finger Vision demonstrated advanced optical tactile sensing technology for object manipulation.
TrendForce highlighted that humanoid robots are transitioning from the product development stage to advanced system integration, expanding their applications beyond industrial production and manufacturing into everyday life, home settings, and even emotional companionship. This shift brings a growing need for deeper understanding and interaction capabilities, placing greater emphasis on the importance of AI model training.
In this context, NVIDIA’s Cosmos development platform, introduced at CES 2025, stands out as a significant innovation. It facilitates the creation of training environments using a combination of real-world data and AI-generated synthetic data. The platform aims to bridge the gap between virtual training and real-world deployment, addressing a key challenge in robotics development. Leading humanoid robot developers, such as Figure AI, 1X, Agility Robotics, and XPeng Motors, are expected to be among the first to adopt this cutting-edge solution.
