NAND prices are clearly on the rise, with U.S. and South Korean memory giants set to increase prices in April. Now, China’s largest NAND manufacturer YMTC may follow suit. According to Chinese media outlet MyDrivers, the company plans to raise NAND prices next month.

The report indicates that YMTC’s retail brand, Zhitai, plans to raise its channel procurement price in April. While the exact increase is unknown, it could exceed 10%, the report adds.

Before YMTC’s rumored price hike, Commercial Times and TechNews reported that U.S. memory makers, including Micron and SanDisk, are set to raise prices soon. SanDisk, in particular, will increase prices by over 10% starting April 1.

In addition, South Korean memory giants like Samsung and SK hynix may not be far behind, as industry sources suggest they’re gearing up to raise NAND wafer prices next month.

According to TrendForce, the wafer spot market for NAND flash carries on with its price hikes this week, where products of lower prices among different capacities are seeing buy orders amidst rather a strong level of purchase sentiment in the overall market.

In general, a significant improvement in the market’s supply-demand balance is expected in the second half of the year, as per TrendForce.

Key factors contributing to this shift include proactive production cuts by manufacturers, inventory reductions in the smartphone sector, and growing demand driven by AI and DeepSeek applications, as highlighted by TrendForce.
