While memory giants like Samsung and SK hynix are reportedly reducing NAND production due to oversupply, the market condition seems to be nearing its bottom. According to a report from TechNews, SanDisk will implement prices increases of over 10% starting April 1.

According to SanDisk’s announcement cited by the report, the U.S.-based NAND company—now independent after splitting from Western Digital—expects the industry to soon shift to a demand-surpassing-supply scenario. Additionally, rising tariffs have further driven its decision to increase prices.

TrendForce’s latest findings reveal that entering 2025, NAND Flash manufacturers have adopted more decisive production cuts, scaling back full-year output to curb bit supply growth. These measures are designed to swiftly alleviate market imbalances and lay the groundwork for a price recovery.

Therefore, TrendForce anticipates a significant improvement in the market’s supply-demand balance in the second half of the year.

Meanwhile, a recent report from etnews reveals that Samsung and SK hynix have started reducing their NAND flash production lately. Industry sources mentioned in the report indicate that both companies’ NAND production in the first quarter of 2025 will drop by over 10% compared to the second half of 2024.
