[News] Samsung Reshuffles Leadership: New Semiconductor Chief, Foundry CTO Role Added

Samsung Electronics unveiled its year-end leadership reshuffle on November 27, aiming to drive the company’s next phase of growth and bolster its future competitiveness, with a strong focus on the semiconductor business.

Jeon Young-hyun, who was appointed head of the Device Solutions (DS) division in May, has been named CEO in this reshuffle. He will lead the company alongside Han Jong-hee, head of the Device Experience (DX) division, marking the reinstatement of Samsung’s dual-CEO structure.

In addition to his role as Vice Chairman, Jeon will take on responsibilities as head of the Memory Business and Director of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT). These roles reflect Samsung’s commitment to restoring its leadership in the memory sector.

Jinman Han has been promoted to President and will assume leadership of the Foundry Business. Meanwhile, Seok Woo Nam has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of the Foundry Business, a newly created position designed to enhance the division’s technological capabilities.

Jinman Han previously served as Executive Vice President and President of Device Solutions America, overseeing Samsung’s semiconductor operations in the U.S. He has extensive experience in DRAM and Flash memory design, SSD development, and strategic marketing.

Seok Woo Nam, formerly President and Head of FAB Engineering & Operations, brings deep expertise in semiconductor process development, memory process technology, and foundry manufacturing.
