The Average Contract Prices of Enterprise SSD May Fall by 10% in 2Q18 due to Suppliers' Aggressive Price Strategy and Pressure to Consume Production Capacity, Says TrendForce

17 May 2018

According to the report of DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce, the Enterprise SSD market has been expanding in recent years driven by the development of data center, AI, big data, 5G, and edge computing. The shipments of Enterprise SSD are expected to reach 30 million units this year, up from less than 20 million units in 2016. The year-on-year bit shipment growth of Enterprise SSD has been over 50% since 2016, showing the strongest growth momentum among all NAND Flash applications. The rapid growth is expected to continue in the next three years.

Three Major Server DRAM Suppliers Score 10.3% Revenue Growth in 1Q18 due to Tight Supplies, Says TrendForce

16 May 2018

Despite the recent adjustments of product mix by suppliers, the supply of server DRAM remained tight in 1Q18, thus resulting in high average selling prices. Consequently, the total revenue of the three major server DRAM suppliers rose by 10.3% sequentially in 1Q18 to US$6.975 billion, according to DRAMeXchange, a research division of TrendForce.

14 May 2018

DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce, reports that the global DRAM revenue for 1Q18 rose by 5.4% QoQ to a new record high. Prices of graphics DRAM products rose significantly by 15% QoQ in 1Q18, given the relatively low base and the surge of demand from the cryptocurrency mining market. Prices of DRAM products for other application markets also increased by 3-6% QoQ.

The eMMC/UFS Market to See Steeper Price Decline in 2Q18, Prices May Stabilize in 2H18 As the Peak Season Arrives, Says TrendForce

9 May 2018

The more working days in 2Q18 have brought higher demand for smartphones and notebooks, etc., but the increasing demand cannot offset the high supply resulting from improvements in 3D NAND Flash production capacity and yield rate, says DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce. Consequently, the suppliers, who face higher inventory levels, have to further adjust the eMMC/UFS prices downward.
