4Q09 and 2009 Sales Ranking of Branded NAND Flash IC Makers

Feb 1st,2010-----As most branded NAND Flash suppliers benefited from the stable 4Q09 hot-season restock orders for electronic system maker clients, NAND Flash ASP slightly rose about 5% QoQ in 4Q09. Total branded NAND Flash bit shipment increased about 10% QoQ and it resulted in the overall branded NAND Flash makers' revenue sustained to improve in 4Q09. 4Q09 branded NAND Flash makers' total sales increased 15.7% QoQ to US$3.881bn from US$3.355bn in 3Q09.According to DRAMeXchange.
 
 
According to the sales ranking, Samsung remains its leadership place with 38.6% market share and records US$1.498bn revenue, followed by Toshiba with 32.7% market share and US$1.267bn revenue. Micron ranks No.3 with 9.9% market share and US$385m revenue while Hynix takes the No.4 with US$380m revenue. Intel and Numonyx grab No.5 and No.6 with sales of US$270m and US$80m respectively.
 
As for sales ranking in 2009 yearly basis, Samsung still remain its leadership position with 37.9% market share and US$4.575bn revenue, followed by Toshiba with 34.2% market share and US$4.131bn revenue. Micron ranks No.3 spot with 9.4% market share and US$1.137bn sales while Hynix takes No.4 with US$1.103bn revenue. Intel and Numonyx grab No.5 and No.6 with sales of US$837m and US$297m respectively.
 
Benefited from the 4Q hot-season replenishment demand from mobile & MP3 market, Samsung’s NAND Flash ASP slightly increased about 5% QoQ and shipment boosted about 5% QoQ 4n 3Q09. Samsung’s 2009 annual sales were US$4.575bn with 37.9% market share.
 
Given the increasing shipment and stable price, Toshiba’s sales grow 8.9% QoQ to US$1.267bn revenue with 32.7% market share. In yearly basis, Toshiba still ranks its No.2 Place in 2009 with US$4.131bn revenue and 34.2% market share.
 
As Micron demonstrated 16% QoQ shipment growth and 5% QoQ price growth, 4Q09 sales rose 21.8% QoQ to US$385m with 9.9% market share in 4Q09. Also Micron climbed to No.3 place with US$1.137bn revenue and 9.4% market share in 2009; Intel recorded US$270m revenue with 23.5% QoQ growth rate and 7% market share in 4Q09. In yearly basis, Intel recorded US$837m revenue with 6.9% market share in 2009.
 
With slight 5% QoQ ASP decline and 37% QoQ shipment increase, Hynix’s sales significantly rose 30.6% QoQ to US$380m in 4Q09 while market share is up to 9.8%. Hynix also recorded US$1.103bn revenue and 9.1% market share in 2009 annual basis; Numonyx recorded US$80m revenue with 2.1% QoQ given the slight shipment increase and stable ASP in 4Q09. Numonyx also recorded US$297m revenue with 2.5% market share in 2009.
