WitsView: Average mainstream TV & Monitor panel prices may return to cash cost level in 2Q09

Taipei, April 7, 2009---For Apr09, as downstream clients continue to replenish their inventory and prepare the launch of new models, coupled by the still tight supply of some components, panel prices will remain on an upward trend. Demand for the 40W and below TV panels has been strong, especially in the China local sales.

WitsView: Panel shipments in 2Q09 are expected to increase by 20.9% QoQ

Taipei, April 7, 2009---In the start of 2009, large-sized panel shipments finally started to show encouraging signs of growth again. Moreover, as inventory in the general supply chain remain low, rush orders continue to be placed, thereby fueling optimism toward the TFT-LCD market outlook.

WitsView: LCD TV retail prices fall by 7.5% QoQ in 1Q09

Taipei, April 2, 2009---According to WitsView’s 1Q09 LCD TV retail price survey, prices for the mainstream 19~52” segment declined by an average of 7.5% QoQ. The 22” and 26” witnessed the biggest declines, while the 46” and 52” fell the least.

Taipei, March 31, 2009--- According to WitsView’s forecast for Apr09, downstream clients will continue to show a strong demand for monitor and TV panel products. Amid the tight supply of some components and high demand of the below 40W segment, capacity allocation between the TV and monitor panels of the G6 lines has been difficult.
