LEDinside, a division of TrendForce, reports that the global average sales price (ASP) of 40-watt equivalent LED light bulb stood at US$9.6 in May, translating to a monthly drop of 1.6%. The global ASP of 60-watt equivalent LED light bulbs in same month also fell 1.4% compared with April to US$12.9.
The combined shipments of smartwatches and smart bands will reach 7.5 million units this year, and 90% of which will be equipped with optical sensor components used for pulse rate monitoring, according to the 2016 UV LED and IR LED Application Markets Report by LEDinside, a division of TrendForce. Shipments of smartwatches and smart bands together will total 170 million units by 2020, and all of them are expected to incorporate optical sensor components.
The global average sales price (ASP) of 40W-equivalent (equiv.) LED light bulbs fell 5.9% in April compared with the prior month, arriving at US$9.7, while the ASP of 60W-equiv. LED light bulbs fell 7.2% to US$13.1. LED light bulb prices in China have been on a downtrend because of sales activities related to the Chinese Labor Day holiday period, said Allen Yu, analyst for LEDinside, a division of TrendForce.
Fierce competition caused major shifts in the global LED package revenue ranking for 2015, according to LEDinside, a division of TrendForce. Nichia remained the leader, followed closely by OSRAM Opto and Lumileds. Samsung LED and other South Korean manufacturers suffered revenue declines due to the price war and the contraction of LED backlight market.
