The latest report from WitsView, a division of TrendForce, finds the global shipments of LCD TVs in this second quarter totaled 48.25M sets, down 6.4% from the prior quarter. Due to the slowdown in the Chinese economy, sales figures from events related the Chinese Labor Day and the Dragon Boat Festival fell below expectations.
Orders continued to stream into the photovoltaic (PV) market during the latter half of July, according the latest PV price report by EnergyTrend, a division of TrendForce. Besides China’s domestic demand being spurred by government policy, market demands remain strong across regions, including the United States, Japan and India.
The latest DRAM price report from DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce, finds the average contract price of DDR3 4GB memory products fell 15% from US$24 in June to US$20.5 in July, but the lowest price in the contract market is now at US$20. “The global economy has entered an uncertain period,” said DRAMeXchange’s Assistant Vice President Avril Wu.
