The DRAM market’s transactions have become sluggish starting from 2014, according to DRAMeXchange, memory and storage research division of TrendForce. The spot market vendors and module suppliers' relatively low inventories, DRAM manufacturers' gradual transition from PC DRAM to Mobile DRAM, and market shortages are all key factors affecting the spot market price movements.
DuPont announced the termination of their silicon thin-film operations by the end of 2014 with gradual shut down the silicon thin-film production lines at their subsidiary company. Silicon thin-film market share is likely to keep falling in the short run, according to the analysis of EnergyTrend.
The March 2014 LCD monitor shipment by brands and SI makers surged by 20.6% and 32.1% respectively, according to the survey by WitsView, the display research division of TrendForce. The surge was mainly attributed to the lower base period for February shipment, topped with several brands actively pushing for sales performance for the financial quarter-end in March.
