Apr. 28th,2010- iPad and iPhone 4G, the new product of Apple, has attracted many spotlight this year. According to DRAMeXchange, 2010 iPhone shipment is expected to reach 40M units while NAND Flash consumption will account 9% of total. We believe the NAND Flash demand will be boosted by Apple products, which will likely result in the mild shortage in 2H’10.
April 28, 2010 -------- With its astounding visual effects, 3D technology has stirred up a new trend in the display market. WitsView, TFT-LCD industry research institute, indicated that consumers’ acceptance of this technology is evident from the impressive figures from 3D movie box office sales.
Extending the shipment growth momentum from 4Q09, global large-sized TFT-LCD panel shipments recorded another all time high at 148 million units in 1Q10 and continued its sequential growth from 2008. Although QoQ growth only reached 0.5%, YoY growth surged by an impressive 71.9%.
LED TV is certainly a priority in the product development of TV brand vendors and panel makers this year. In order to achieve exponential growth in LED TV shipments, makers are aggressively seeking a stable source of LED chips, focusing mainly on the procurement and restocking of LEDs and light bars.
According to WitsView’s latest survey, global large-sized panel shipments reached a new historic high in March 2010, surging by 21.5% MoM to 53.88 million units; its YoY growth rate reached an impressive 49.7%.
