According to WitsView, Trendforce’s panel research division, the global large-sized panel shipments in Feb-12 reached 59.58 million units with an increased MoM of 14.4%.
According to the Worldwide LCD TV Brands Shipment Report from WitsView, the panel research division of TrendForce, global LCD TV shipments in 2011 reached 200.5 million and is projected to reach 216.5 million in 2012 with an increased YoY of 8%.
The BOD of Samsung approved the spin-off of the LCD business from Samsung to become a new cooperation named Samsung Display. Going forward, the new corporation will consider a merger with Samsung Mobile Display to enhance their flat panel display business.
According to the Top Ten Monitor Brand and SI Shipment Survey by WitsView, a research division of Trendforce, both segments experienced shipment declines in 4Q11. Specifically, brand shipments fell by 4.7% QoQ and 7% YoY. Meanwhile, SI shipments slipped by 5.1% QoQ and 12% YoY.
